School help 1st High School Xenophon Greek.
Xenophon's "Greeks" refer to the events that took place in Greece from 411 BC. until the battle of Mantinea in 362 BC. This is a particularly important work, as it is the most important source for this troubled period (4th century BC), but also a text that, with the liveliness, vividness and precision of the narrative, effortlessly arouses the reader's interest.
The textbook mainly includes chapters from the second book of the Greeks, which record events such as the defeat of Athens at the Aegos Potamos, the siege and surrender of Athens to Sparta, the seizure of power by the Thirty and the crimes they committed until the restoration of democracy.
This aid aspires to contribute to the students' effort to understand the historical events vividly described by Xenophon, but also to get to know and appreciate one of the greatest historians of antiquity.
