Patakis A Magic Passage
The drama of refugees crossing the Mediterranean through a story that moves between reality and dream, surrealism and real events. The boat in which little Omar escapes to Italy is wrecked, but he and the rest of his refugee fellow travelers manage to be saved thanks to a human chain set up on a Sicilian coast.
Ezekiel, an old fisherman who helped the refugees to safety, finds Omar's school bag on the shore and decides to travel to the shores of Africa to return it to the little boy's mother and assure her that her son is alive.
So he leaves with Esmeralda, his boat, accompanied by his grandson Tonino and his dog Spaghetti on a return trip to Africa.
On their journey they will encounter many unexpected things, they will pass through the Island That Does Not Exist, where all the souls who, although they tried, never managed to reach the shores of Sicily, are accommodated, until after a thousand and two difficulties they will locate the mother of little Omar and they will hand over his bag to her.
